Evaluation

During the evaluation, the speech therapist will ask about your concerns and goals. They will assess a variety of speech, language, and cognitive areas that may benefit from therapy. This is a crucial step in determining the right course of treatment to address your areas of concern such as:*

Evaluation of speech fluency

Evaluation of speech production

Evaluation of speech sound production

with evaluation of language comprehension and expression (e.g., receptive and expressive language) 

Behavioral and qualitative analysis of voice and resonance

Evaluation of oral and pharyngeal swallowing function

Assessment of Aphasia

Standardized cognitive performance testing

Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Evaluations


Treatment

Our Speech Therapy services provide individualized treatment plans to improve communication skills for clients of all ages. Our team of highly trained speech therapists utilize evidence-based techniques to address speech, language, and swallowing disorders. During the session, the speech therapist will provide the necessary therapy discussed in the treatment plan to address areas of concern such as:*

Aphasia:

Loss or impairment of language due to brain injury or stroke      

Cognitive-Communication Disorders:

Impairments in communication due to cognitive issues, such as memory or executive function problems.  

Fluency Disorders:

Stuttering or other disruptions in the flow of speech. 

Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia):

Difficulties with swallowing food and liquids, often related to neurological conditions or injury. 

Articulation Disorders:

Difficulty pronouncing sounds correctly (e.g., lisps, substitutions). 

Phonological Disorders:

Patterns of sound errors that can affect intelligibility. 

Language Delays:

Delayed development in understanding or using language. 

Receptive Language Disorders:

Difficulty understanding language and following instructions.

Social Communication Disorder:

Difficulty with social aspects of communication, including understanding and using non-verbal cues. 

Neurodegenerative Diseases:

Conditions like Parkinson’s disease, ALS, or MS that affect speech and communication abilities.             

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI):

Speech and language difficulties resulting from injury to the brain 

Dysarthria:

Difficulty articulating words due to muscle weakness, often from neurological conditions. 

Voice Disorders:

Conditions such as vocal cord nodules or polyps affecting the voice. 

Gender Affirming Voice Therapy

Apraxia of Speech:

Difficulty with planning and coordinating the movements needed for speech. 

Expressive Language Disorders:

Difficulty with using language to communicate ideas. 

Speech Delays:

General delay in speech development compared to peers. 

Stuttering:

Disruptions in the flow of speech, including repetitions, prolongations, and blocks. 

Treatment using Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices
